SE Civil  Engineering  Students  of   MIT College of Railway Engineering  & Research  Barshi visited Naladurg Fort  and  Bori River Dam near Naladurg, Maharashtra on 21/10/2018. The fort has enclosed surface  of  a plantain  of  Basalt Rock. Along the rest  of cliff on three sides run fortifications. Bastions firmly built have dressed basalt and  are large enough to carry the heavy guns. The entire circumference is about 1.5 miles. Fort has been constructed in such a way that it is very dif ficult to attack. Site visits are a very important part  of  our courses. Visiting a Geological site gives students a valuable insight into the Civil  engineering   and  enhances their understanding  of  how taught theoretical principles are applied in practice. # MITCORER # RAILWAYENGINEERING

As part   of  Curriculum   of   Railway   Engineering   of  SE (Mechanical), Student Industrial visit was organized by MAEER's   MIT College of Railway Engineering  &   Research ,Barshi as to provide students the real insight   of working procedure at Indian Railways Locomotive maintenance division at Diesel Locomotive Shed, Ghorpadi, Pune on 20/10/2018. In this Diesel Locomotive shed Major   and  minor scheduled maintenance   of Diesel Locomotives are carried out. The shed is ISO 9001:2000, ISO 140 01:2004  and  OHSAS 18001:2007 certified. The shed is divided into Light Schedule Repair Section, Heavy Schedule Repair Section, Heavy Repair (Mechanical), Heavy Repair (Electrical), Bogie Section, Machine Shop  and Training Centre. The shed is located near Ghorpadi  railway  station, Pune. Site visits are a very important part  of  our courses.
